If I was a famous author I would publish a book with ten different endings which all went to print with varying degrees of rarity, but not tell the fans about it so that I could watch their confusion as they disagree over how the story ended. Then when they figured it out I would ‘come clean’, telling them that I had released eleven alternate endings and watch them panic again as they all try to find the last ending.

In the quest for more and better representation, we can’t invalidate the wants of others to press our own needs because here’s the thing: we’re all starving. Just because we got one black princess doesn’t mean that that’s enough for black women’s representation so let’s move on to the next one. Tiana was merely a scratch on the surface: she’s not a solution to one part of a bigger problem.
We do need a Brazilian, Hindu, and a Japanese princess as well as other racial and ethnic groups. But let’s not tell someone just because they have one that their turn is over and it’s time for something else. One from each group is not going to cut it.  Just like we have an abundance of white princesses, we need an abundance of black, Asian, and Latina ones as well as any other groups of people of color and non-whites.
